Helpful for her work is her background in spiritual direction from an internship in Spiritual Direction at the Jesuit Center in Wernersville, Penn., and a masters degree in Holistic Spirituality/Spiritual Direction from Chestnut Hill University in Philadelphia.
Carol Quigley, IHM, Membership Coordinator, finds her work with the team a most meaningful ministry. Carol has enjoyed great variety in her IHM life. Benefiting from the Sister Formation Conference, she began as a teacher, joined the Detroit-Recife Mission four years later and spent seven years in Brazil working with the people who created liberation theology through the dialogue of experience and expertise in theology. Returning to the USA, she spent 12 years in leadership in the IHM community. After several years in other works, including Novice Director, Carol was again elected to leadership. She began her term on July 1, 2006. She holds a masters in theology from the University of Toronto.
Monica Stuhlreyer, IHM, Coordinator of IHM Associates, who facilitates the process for lay women and men who wish to become IHM Associates, says of her work, "It gives me great joy to realize how alive our IHM charism is among so many of the laity who have ministered with us, been our students, or who lived and served with us as former vowed members. They are indeed doing wonderful works that are bringing about the Reign of God, and we are delighted to be in an association with them that is mutually enriching." Her service in other ministries makes this one a good "fit" with nine years working in the IHM Formation ministry with those seeking vowed commitment. Most recently she spent six years working as director of the Lay Ministry Formation in the diocese of Covington, Ky. with persons who sought a deeper spiritual formation for the lay ministries in which they were involved. In addition, her preparation and practice as a spiritual director proved invaluable in the ministry of spiritual formation. She has a masters in religious education from the University of Detroit; and a certificate in advanced spiritual direction from the Center for Religious Development, Cambridge, Mass.
