Sister Maria Antonia lives in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. She ministers in a parish in Juarez and in "Paso del Norte," a human rights center that works to protect the rights of women and children, providing psychological support and legal assistance. Sister Maria Antonia recently developed a program to teach residents of Juarez to repair computers. The program also makes computers more accessible to all and provides a place for students to receive help with schoolwork. Sister Maria Antonia is a native of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, where her father, seven siblings and their families live. Five members of her family, as well as friends and the IHM community, attended her final vows ceremony. She earned an industrial engineering degree in electronics from Instituto Technologico in Juarez and a master's degree in administration from Universidad Autonoma de Chihuahua. She became familiar with the IHM community through her parish, Cristo Sumo y Eterno, where several IHM Sisters ministered.

Sister Maria Antonia Aranda Diaz, IHM, professed final vows as a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, the feast of Saint Alphonsus of Liguori. The ceremony took place at a Eucharistic liturgy in the IHM Motherhouse Chapel in Monroe.
