Katherine Collard, IHM, professes final vows
Mary Fran Gilleran, IHM, Leadership Council President, and Katherine Collard, IHM On Sunday, May 4, Katherine Collard, IHM, professed final vows with the IHM Sisters. The ceremony took place during the Eucharistic liturgy at the Motherhouse Chapel. Family and friends from A native of Katherine is a convert to Roman Catholicism. She began to explore the possibility of religious life a few years after her conversion, visiting several communities in search of the right place. She professed her first vows with the IHM community in 2005. Katherine has served in parish ministry and in the Theology Department of Central Catholic Junior/Senior High School in
Barbara Stanbridge, IHM, On Saturday, April 12, Barbara G. Stanbridge, IHM, professed her final vows at a community Eucharistic liturgy of celebration at the IHM Motherhouse. Barbara served the Archdiocese of Detroit as a religious education coordinator for many years. In 1976 she and business partners founded CHANGE - HRD, an organization development firm specializing in managing whole systems change. She has served as the president of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and was named one of In 2006, Barbara began working with various North American Provinces of the School Sisters of Notre Dame. She currently serves as chair for two TEC (an international organization for CEOs) groups and chair of the Board of Trustee of the new Unable to be present for the vows ceremony, her daughter, Lara, and son-in-law, Eigo Mulawka Okada, recently returned from Japan and are currently living in Indiana with their three young sons, Tai, Gen and River.

Family and friends joined in the celebration with the IHM community. Carol Quigley, IHM, welcomed the assembly, Richard Luberti, CSsR, presided, and Marie Gabriel Hungerman, IHM, offered a reflection. Maxine is a writer and editor. She became acquainted with the IHM congregation when she served as the community's director of communications from 1997-2000. A native of Whittemore, Iowa, Maxine holds a bachelor's degree in English from Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa, and a master's degree in advertising from Michigan State University in Lansing, Mich. She lives in Chicago, where she is studying for a master's degree in theology at the Catholic Theological Union.

Novice bids adios by Carol Quigley, IHM
While much was the same as other professions, this was in another country surrounded by Tonia's friends and family, including her 83-year-old father. She packed a church, with 300 persons present for the Mass. The joint choirs , from parishes were she had served before becoming an IHM, were spectacular. Of course, it was in Spanish, even the refrain of the Centennial Hymn written in 1945 for the 100th anniversary of the IHMs.
Sister Antonia spent her canonical year in Puerto Rico, taking theology classes with other Spanish-speaking internationals at the Dominican University. During her time in Southeast Michigan, she made many friends - IHMs and others. Her intial studies with Letitia O'Connell, IHM, an expert in English as a Second Language, were intensified when she attended Wayne State University with others from around the world. She will continue her studies in Juarez for the time being.

Maxine Kollasch, IHM, celebrated her final vows on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006
The ceremony took place during a Eucharistic Liturgy at the Motherhouse Chapel of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe. Sr. Joan is a Jungian psychotherapist and licensed professional counselor and has been in private practice for 15 years. Currently, she ministers in Monroe and Dearborn with a wide variety of individuals and groups, with emphasis on women and artists.
Just as Super Bowl XL was starting in Detroit, another festive event took place on February 5 in Juarez, Mexico, as Maria Antonia Aranda Diaz made her first vows as an IHM Sister, becoming a full member of the congregation.
Eight IHM Sisters attended. As Anne Crimmins, IHM, said, "This was truly the Church at its best, with so much involvement by so many!"
