The IHM Sisters are selling St. Mary Center, which formerly housed St. Mary Academy. Constructed in 1932 as an all-girls dormitory school, the sprawling five-story building provided programmed space in the form of classrooms, offices, gymnasium, dining facility, 1000-seat auditorium, living spaces, and community space. Finishes consists of a grand entrance, with marble staircase and exquisite masonry construction with marble walls extending to the ceiling and Faience tile flooring. Oak wainscoting with oak parquet flooring is found in the first floor ballrooms. The main corridor floors are of rubber tile. The building is currently mothballed and the steam boilers have been de-commissioned. There is no central cooling tower.
