IHM Green Team
The IHM Green Team is an educational team of consultants with expertise in sustainable living. Our services include designing processes for organizational transformation and planning and implementing "green" renovation and construction practices to significantly reduce or eliminate the negative impact of buildings on the environment and on occupants.
Ask Yourself
We begin by asking your organization or community to make choices based on four foundational questions:
In what ways will the choices you make
- Contribute to a transformation of consciousness, be it spiritual, economic, ecological, feminist, social, racial, political or communal?
- Contribute to working in a partnership way with persons, systems and structures beyond ourselves?
- Address how those who will be affected will be included in the planning and decision-making?
- Address who benefits and who loses from any decision and what the trade-offs are?
Organizational Transformation
We believe sustainable community is essential to green development and living. The pastoral, organizational planning and leadership that supports transformative change requires careful attention to spirituality and the value-sharing underpinnings of the process of change. Complex decision-making and understanding shared by a broad base of people will be a foundation that will support movement forward with energy and vitality.
We offer processes for organizational change that tend to feelings and data, intuition and clarity, learning styles and dialogue skills that all work together so that decisions on sustainable design and renovation, buildings and property can be metaphors for the way community members are changed.
What We Provide
Our design team will provide tips and strategies on the entire spectrum of planning and implementing sustainable design. Specific areas include how to build a green design team; how to educate for green renovation; how to determine the decision-making process; how to create a green design for your building; and how to conduct the programming phases, establish controls, document requirements and communicate protocols.
