Our educational, two-hour tour program includes a video presentation of Blue Nuns Go Green, featuring the sisters' vision of sustainability and the story of the Motherhouse renovation, and a guided tour of the renovated building and its sustainable features. The IHM Campus offers a rich contempletive landscape of meadows, courtyards, a pond, woodlands, contructed wetland, walking paths, gardens, a labyrinth, a cemetery and green park space for quiet moments. Learn how to make healthy choices in your personal care products. This 90-minute workshop includes exploring the impact chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products have upon our health and the environment, choosing products that are healthy for our bodies and the planet, and identifying ways to urge corporations to do the same. Learn how to grow food and nurture a community of life. These seasonal workshops are geared for adults and teens. Fall/Winter offerings are 60-minutes and include What is Eating God's Creation, Nurturing Wellness with Nature, and Mindful Eating. Spring/Summer offerings include Honeybees: Pollinators we cannot live without (60 minutes), Composting: Black Gold (30 minutes also suitable for elementary children), and Sustainable Gardening: Good for You, Your Children, and the Planet (60 minutes).
