The series is based on the work of mathematical cosmologist Brian Swimme, Ph.D. It will be held Saturdays, from 10 a.m. - noon., Oct. 15 through Nov. 5. Sister Joan Kusak, IHM, will facilitate the series. "Dr. Swimme uses science to touch our deep spiritual chords," says Sister Kusak. "By putting scientific theory in a human context, he helps place the challenges of our times as part of the journey of the universe. He shows how the cosmological powers that have shaped the universe have also shaped us, clarifying how microcosms reflect macrocosms, from our DNA to galaxies. "Science and spiritual traditions can find common ground that is evolutionary, scientific and filled with reverence and awe." The four sessions offered by River House are "Centration," "Emergence," "Allurement" and "Homeostasis." Sessions build upon one another, and participants are encouraged to attend all four. A free-will offering is requested. To register, contact Return to News Releases page |
