IHM Sisters elect new leadership team

The IHM Sisters elected six members to the IHM Leadership Council. They will serve the congregation from July 2012-2018.

The six sisters elected are Mary Jane Herb, IHM, president; Sharon Holland, IHM, vice president; Helen Ingles, IHM, chief financial officer; Margaret Alandt, IHM, mission councilor; Mary Ann Bredice, IHM, mission councilor; and Patricia McCluskey, IHM, mission councilor. The new IHM Leadership Council members will assume their positions on July 1.

The election process included two discernment retreats for nominees, a written response to several questions and candid interviews with approximately 200 delegates from the congregation. The process offered all vowed members of the IHM community an opportunity to participate in the election.

Every six years the IHM Sisters hold a "Chapter" to discern, discuss and pray together about the congregation's future mission and ministries for the upcoming six years.
