IHM Chapel Concert Series Features Handel's Messiah
Nov. 15, 2011

Handel's holiday classic, Messiah, will be performed at the IHM Motherhouse Chapel on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m.

John Tyner will direct the performance, which will include soloists, an orchestra and the chorus composed of singers from throughout Monroe County. Concert tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for senior citizens and students.

The IHM Sisters will offer dinner following the concert. The menu features spring vegetable soup, iceberg wedge salad, herb-roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, roasted root vegetables, apple-cranberry cobbler, wine, coffee, tea and lemonade. Dinner tickets are $20 per person.

Tickets for the Messiah concert and the dinner are available by calling 734-240-9860 or online on the home page of the IHM Sisters' website: www.ihmsisters.org.

The IHM Motherhouse is located at 610 W. Elm Avenue, Monroe.

Messiah is the second in the 2011-2012 Chapel Concert Series at the Motherhouse. The next performance will be "A Festival of Lessons and Carols." Presented by the John Tyner Chorale on Friday, Dec. 16, at 7:30 p.m., this unique musical and prayerful experience is modeled after the Christmas Eve service at Cambridge Cathedral in England. A reception in the foyer begins at 6:30 p.m. A free-will offering is requested for the concert; there is no charge to attend the reception.
