resident makes c
ommitment as associate with IHM Sisters

On Dec. 15, Janet Cameron of Grant, Fla., celebrated her commitment as an IHM Associate with the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM).

Cameron's associate ceremony, with the theme of "A Time For...," took place in the IHM Motherhouse Chapel. Marie Gatza, IHM, served as Cameron's vowed companion on the journey of preparation to become an IHM Associate.

Cameron holds a bachelor's degree from Marygrove College in Detroit and a master's degree from the University of Detroit. She spent 42 years teaching In Michigan, New Hampshire and Florida and is now retired.

IHM Associates are men and women who have come to identify with the spirit, life and mission of the IHM Sisters. While maintaining their own lifestyles, IHM Associates choose to covenant with the Monroe IHM Sisters for a specific and renewable period of time, focusing especially on areas of their choice, including those of prayer, community and/or ministry.
