New Art Exhibit Opens at
IHM Sisters' Visitation Barn
March 25, 2008

The IHM Visitation Spirituality Center's "Art in the Barn Series" will feature the works of artists Zena Carnaghi and Dorothea Krieg, from April 13-May 17 in an exhibit called, "Here and Beyond."

Carneghi's art originates from personal experience. It transforms feelings and emotion into tangible abstract forms using symbolism to reinforce meaning. She has studied watercolor, monotype and collage at Wayne State University, the College for Creative Studies and Windsor Printmaker's Forum.

Krieg is a printmaker. Her varied patterns and unexpected nuances provide a perceptual response from viewers based on their own experiences. She studied art at Marygrove College, intaglio print at Wayne State University and relief printing at Windsor Printmaker's Forum.

The opening reception for the exhibit will be held at Visitation Spirituality Center, 529 Stewart Road, Monroe, Mich., on Sunday, April 13, from 2-3:30 p.m. Viewing hours are 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Call 734-242-5520 for more information.
