Education
Third- and fourth-graders at Sacred Heart School in Dearborn, Mich., saw the DVD, The Blue Nuns Go Green, in their social studies classes. They were so impressed they wrote to the congregation. Read some of the children's letters here.
 Sister Michele Denton (in photo at left), one of the newer IHMs, served at St. Martin de Porres in Detroit and is now teaching theology at the IHM-sponsored Marian High School in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
With close to 150 years of experience between them,  three retired IHMs, Sister Marie Cyril Delisi, Sister Mary (Marie Rosary) Laird, and Sister Alice (Raphaela) Baker (pictured at right) recently opened Epiphany Education Center on Detroit's Eastside, providing one-on-one tutoring to elementary students whose Catholic schools were recently closed. These IHM Sisters felt compelled to provide educational support and assistance in a Catholic environment and they have welcomed students without charge since the fall of 2005.
