Those who have come to know IHMs individually may want to investigate volunteer opportunities.
See who is our Volunteer of the Month.
The Motherhouse Volunteer Program (PDF 2 MB) seeks individuals who would like to donate their time to assist residents in the Motherhouse. The many opportunities include:
- Driving sisters to appointments off site
- Assisting residents with correspondence and e-mail
- Reading to the residents
- Playing cards or other games
- Helping with sing-alongs, arts and crafts, plant care, holiday parties, etc.
These are some of the ways volunteers can help. You may have other talents you'd like to share.

Gail Schmidt
My husband and I have been married for 25 years. We have three children, Christopher, Matthew and Kelly (in photo with me). My aunt is Sister Mary Pipis, IHM.
I enjoy cooking, reading and exercising. I teach the fourth grade at Airport School.
I saw an ad in the St. Mary's paper seeking volunteers, so I checked into it and thought it was a great place to help. My daughter Kelly and I play bingo each Saturday with the sisters in Memory Care. We really enjoy their company!
