Ryan, Frances (Frances Regina), IHM
Jan. 25, 1938-Dec. 26, 2011

Sister Frances was one of three children, one boy and two girls, of John Albert and Frances (Baker) Ryan. She was born in Detroit and given the name Frances Ann. Sister Frances attended St. Michael (Livonia) and Epiphany (Detroit) elementary schools and graduated from St. Cecilia High School in Detroit. She became a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1956 and was given the name Frances Regina.

Sister Frances earned a bachelor's degree from Marygrove College and her master's degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. She taught in formal education for 16 years at Holy Redeemer, Detroit; St. Patrick, Carleton; St. Joseph, Erie; and St. Hugo of the Hills, Bloomfield Hills. After a year of renewal, Sister Frances began her ministry in religious education at St. Blase Parish in Sterling Heights as religious education section head. After three years at St. Blase she went to St. Martin de Porres Parish in Warren for the next eight years as director of religious education and the CCD Program.

In 1989 Sister Frances became the director of the IHM Associate Program. She held this position for eight years. Her next ministry was parish minister at St. Louise Parish in Warren. She retired in 2001, and in 2007, because of health reasons, she retired to the IHM Health Care Center at the Motherhouse, where she resided until her death. She was 73. This is her Remembering.

Sister Frances is survived by her sister, Mary Agnes (John Michael) IHM, and nieces and nephews.  Her brother, John A., died in March 2010. 


Zeestraten, Elizabeth (Alexia), IHM
Dec. 31, 1908-Dec. 23, 2011

Sister Elizabeth was one of 12 children, seven boys and five girls, of Cornelius and Cornelia (Stassan) Zeestraten. She was born in Strausburg, N.D., and given the name Elizabeth. Sister Elizabeth attended the elementary school in Hollandville, Mont., and Precious Blood in Glidden, Wis. She graduated from high school at St. Mary Academy. She became a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1932, taking the religious name of Sister Alexia.

Sister Elizabeth taught at St. Michael, Flint; Our Lady of Help and All Saints, Detroit. In 1938 she began her ministry to the IHM community in domestic services. Sister Elizabeth worked in the diet kitchen at the Motherhouse for 12 years, followed by a year in the kitchen at the Hall of the Divine Child in Monroe. From 1951 to 1965 she directed operations at the community laundry in the powerhouse on the Monroe campus. Sister Elizabeth cooked at the convent in Christ the King Parish, Detroit, for the next 13 years. She returned to the Motherhouse in Monroe in 1978 and subsequently was buyer for the kitchen until 1983 and also worked in the Creativity Shoppe from 1978-1989, when she formally retired. She entered the Health Care Center in 2000 where she resided until her death. She would have turned 103 on Dec. 31. Read Sister Elizabeth's Remembering here.

Sister Elizabeth is survived by nieces and nephews.


Affholter, Regina Mary, IHM
June 1, 1927-Dec. 19, 2011

Sister Regina Mary was one of four children, one boy and three girls, of Lloyd and Irene (Stewart) Affholter. She was born in Wyandotte, Mich., and given the name Rita. Sister Regina Mary attended Woodruff and St. Patrick elementary schools in Wyandotte and St. Patrick and St. Mary Academy in Monroe for high school. She became a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1945.

Sister Regina Mary earned a bachelor's degree from Marygrove College and her master's degree from Ball State University in Indiana. She taught in formal education for 42 years at Holy Rosary, Our Lady of Help, St. Boniface, St. Patrick and Holy Redeemer, Detroit; St. John, Benton Harbor; St. Peter Claver, Mobile, Ala; Our Lady of Lourdes, River Rouge; and Hall of the Divine Child, Monroe.

In 1973 Sister Regina Mary began teaching at Holy Redeemer. She taught for 21 years at Holy Redeemer Elementary School, followed by 13 years as director of the Getting Educationally Motivated (GEM) program. This program provided academic and social support for students whose learning problems may slow the progress of the rest of the class. She solicited many retired teachers to help with the tutoring. Sister Regina Mary retired in 2003. She became a health care patient in 2006 and resided in the IHM Health Care Center until her death. She was 84.

She is survived by her brother, Lloyd, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Ann Payette and Nancy Blanchette. This is Sister Regina Mary's Remembering.


Reuter, Mary (Mary del Val), IHM
March 16, 1927-Nov. 24, 2011

Sister Mary was one of two children, one boy and one girl, of Edward and Mary (Theisen) Reuter. She was born in Dearborn, Mich., and at baptism received the name Mary Antoinette. Sister Mary attended both elementary and high school at St. Alphonsus in Dearborn. She became a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1950,taking the religious name of Sister Mary del Val.

Sister Mary earned a bachelor's degree from Marygrove College, a master's degree from St. Louis University, and her doctorate from the University of Northern Colorado. Her dissertation was an enzyme study of the fruit fly, and she presented her research at the Southwestern Section of the Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Sister Mary had an article published in Genetics magazine in 1963. 

She was involved in formal education for 17 years at St. Joseph and St. Mary Academy, Monroe; St. Michael, Flint; Our Lady of Lourdes, River Rouge; SS. Peter and Paul, Ionia; St. Mary of Redford, Immaculata and St. Gregory, Detroit and Marian High School, Bloomfield Hills. In 1970 Sister Mary began her 28-year stay at Marygrove College in Detroit as an instructor, mainly of biology and chemistry.

In 1998 Sister Mary retired and took up residence in Allen Park, Mich. She volunteered her time visiting the sick, driving sisters and friends to appointments. Sister Mary returned to the Motherhouse in Monroe and entered the Health Care Center in 2005, where she resided until her death. She was 84. This is her Remembering.

Sister Mary is survived by her brother, Edward Reuter and her cousins, Irene Madar and Doreen Kasonovich.


Soleau, Mary Janice (Nivard), IHM
June 1, 1925-Nov. 14, 2011

Sister Janice was one of three girls of Doras and Martha (McCormick) Soleau. She was born in Monroe, Mich., and given the name Mary Janice. Sister Janice attended St. John Elementary School and graduated from St. Mary Academy in Monroe. She became a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1943.

Sister Janice earned a bachelor's degree from Marygrove College and her master's degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. She taught in formal education for 22 years at Gesu, St. Francis de Sales and St. Cecilia, Detroit; St. Regis, Bloomfield Twp., Mich.; and St. Gerard Majella, Kirkwood, Mo. In 1951 Sister Janice published a Mass book for children titled Our Sacrifice.

In 1967 Sister Janice began ministry as vocation director and postulant director for a year at the IHM Motherhouse in Monroe and four more years as vocation director while living in Detroit. She headed the Speakers' Committee for the St. Louis Archdiocesan Vocation Council for two years. Sister Janice began 11 years of campus ministry/counseling at Wayne State University in 1972. This was followed by 21 years of ministry at Marygrove College in Detroit as alumnae director and planned gift coordinator. Sister Janice retired in 2004, and while living in St. Clair Shores, Mich., volunteered at Epiphany Education Center, Marygrove College and with other organizations.

Sister Janice is survived by her sister Donna (Mrs. George White) and nieces and nephews. Beth Pardon, another sister, preceded her in death. Sister Janice was 86. Read her Remembering.


Brennan, Mary Jane (Jane Therese), IHM
June 2, 1925-July 30, 2011

Sister Mary Jane was one of six children, two boys and four girls, of Thomas and Alma (Wagner) Brennan. She was born in Detroit and given the name Mary Jane. Sister Mary Jane attended St. Rose Elementary and High School in Detroit. She became a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1942, taking the religious name of Sister Jane Therese.

Sister Mary Jane earned a bachelor's degree from Marygrove College and a master's degree from the University of New Mexico. She taught in formal education for 25 years at Christ the King, Epiphany and St. Charles, Detroit; Assumption, Albuquerque, N.M. and St. Frederick, Pontiac, Mich.

In 1971 Sister Mary Jane became director/coordinator of the religious education program at St. Gerard Majella in Kirkwood, Mo. After a year in a ministry training program, she went to Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Minnetonka, Minn., in 1981 as pastoral assistant, where she ministered for 15 years. In 1996 Sister Mary Jane retired and did volunteer in work as a hospital chaplain and spiritual director n Hopkins, Minn., where she lived. She was 86.

Sister Mary Jane is survived by her sisters in the IHM community and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth Campbell, Mary Louise Brennan and Patricia Turbett, and her brothers, Thomas and Rev. James Anthony Brennan, C.M. Read Sister Mary Jane's Remembering.


Gilleran, Mary Frances (Kathleen Thomas), IHM
April 23, 1944-July 9, 2011

Sister Mary Frances Gilleran, president of the IHM congregation since 2006, died Saturday, July 9, 2011, at the IHM Motherhouse in Monroe, Mich. She had been under the care of the IHM Health Care Center staff and Mercy Memorial Hospice. She was 67.

Sister Mary Fran was one of seven children, four boys and three girls, of George and Kathleen (Brunett) Gilleran. She was born April 23, 1944 in Detroit and given the name Mary Frances. She attended St. Matthew Elementary School and Dominican High School in Detroit and became a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1963, taking the religious name of Sister Kathleen Thomas.

Sister Mary Fran earned a bachelor's degree from Marygrove College, a master's degree in religious studies from the University of Detroit and a master's degree in conflict management and organizational change from Antioch University, Yellow Springs, Ohio. 

Prior to serving as IHM president, Sister Mary Fran taught elementary school at St. Frederick, Pontiac, Mich., and St. Columban, Birmingham, Mich. She spent more than 40 years in pastoral work, ministering at St. Columban Parish, Glenwood United Church of Christ in Windsor, Ontario, as supervisor of ministry training and associate in lay ministry. Following a year as coordinator of IHM Visitation House of Prayer in Monroe, Sister Mary Fran became chaplain and adult education teacher at Madonna Villa in Fraser, Mich. She spent five years teaching those in the deacon preparation program at Sacred Heart Seminary, Detroit.

Sister Mary Fran co-founded and ministered with the Women's Sources and Resources Center and in the IHM Office of Life Planning; served as a provincial for the Northeast Province of the IHM congregation; and worked with the Leadership Conference of Women Religious, an association of the leaders of congregations of Catholic women religious in the United States. She spent eight years working with organizational change, facilitation and conflict management and worked with a variety of religious communities and organizations in the United States and Canada. Sister Mary Fran was elected president of the IHM congregation in 2006. She held this position while residing in the Health Care Center and until her death.

This past May, Sister Mary Fran received the "Thomas J. Gumbleton Award" from the Elephants in the Living Room organization in Detroit for exceptional service, courage and dedication to Gospel values and to the Catholic Church. In accepting this award, Sister Mary Fran said, "We have been delighted to support and partner with the Elephants to keep the spirit of dialogue, inquiry, scholarship and community-building alive in this (Vatican II) Church...We share with all others a vision for a mature Catholic Church that addresses the deeper questions and profound longings that our faith invites us to welcome."

She is survived by her sisters, Regina Butler and Helen Roach (Kenneth), her brothers, Gerald, James (Ann), Paul (Carol) and Thomas (Judy) Gilleran, as well as 24 nieces and nephews, 48 grand-nieces and nephews and her sisters in the IHM community. Read Sister Mary Fran's Remembering.

Coulter, Theresa, IHM

Feb. 12, 1949-June 5, 2011 
 

Sister Theresa was one of five children, two boys and three girls, of Malcolm and Helen (Urzendowski) Coulter. She was born in Dearborn, Mich., and given the name Helen Theresa. She attended Duvall and Adams Elementary and Junior High Schools and Dearborn High School and became a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1977, taking the religious name of Sister Theresa.

She earned a bachelor's degree from Marygrove College and a master's degree from the University of Michigan. She began her pastoral ministry work at St. Agnes Parish in Detroit. After a year at the Formation House in Detroit and a year as a student at St. John Seminary in Plymouth, Sister Theresa went to St. Michael Parish in Flint for four years as parish assistant with responsibility for Christian service, adult religious education and senior citizens. From 1985 to 1990 she ministered on the staff of Groundwork as an advocate for social justice.

During the next years, she was a teacher at Holy Redeemer and Holy Trinity Schools in Detroit; assistant manager at the Theresa Maxis Apartments located on the Marygrove College campus, while being involved in parish ministry at Holy Rosary Parish in Detroit. After two years at St. Basil Parish in Eastpointe, she became Christian formation director at Sacred Heart Parish in Roseville, Mich., and teacher at Our Lady Queen of Peace School in Harper Woods. In 2003 she ministered as librarian/teacher at the Michigan Automotive Academy in Detroit followed by five years at the Michigan Technical Academy in Detroit as a Title I reading teacher, librarian and reading specialist.

Sister Theresa is survived by her sisters in the IHM community, her sisters, Melissa Scharrer and Dolores Coulter, her brothers, David and Malcolm, and nieces and nephews. She was 62. This is Sister Theresa's Remembering.


Glosser, Mary Ellen (Susellen), IHM
May 2, 1919 - June 5, 2011

Mary Ellen (Susellen) Glosser,
 IHM, died Sunday, June 5, 2011. 
She had been under the care of Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe.

Sister Mary Ellen was one of six children, three boys and three girls, of Andrew and Eleanor (Lyons) Glosser. She was born in Canton, Ohio, and given the name Mary Ellen. She became a member of the IHM Sisters in Monroe in 1935, taking the religious name of Sister Susellen.

Sister Mary Ellen earned a bachelor's degree from Marygrove College and a  master's degree from the University of Detroit. Her first 21 years as a teacher were at St. Louis, Mt. Clemens; St. Felicitas, Chicago.; St. Rose, Holy Rosary and St. Agnes, Detroit; St. John, Jackson; Sacred Heart, Roseville and St. Mary Academy, Monroe. She taught at St. Mary Academy full-time for two years and served as part-time teacher and directress of resident students for seven years.

The next years brought a variety of ministries for Sister Mary Ellen. She was principal at St. Mary, Wayne; superior and coordinator at Marygrove Convent, Health Care supervisor at the IHM Motherhouse in Monroe, co-provincial of the IHM Southwest Province, and business manager at Marian High School in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. In 1982 Sister Mary Ellen returned to the Motherhouse in Monroe and served as switchboard operator and diet kitchen supervisor. She retired in 1988 and entered the Health Care Center in 2009.

Sister Mary Ellen is survived by her sisters in the IHM community, her sister, Margaret Gouge, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Arthur, Earl and Andrew, and her sister, Sister Dorothy Glosser, SSJ. She was 92. Read Sister Mary Ellen's Remembering.


Rabaut, Celeste (Palmyre), IHM

July 22, 1914-May 10, 2011

Sister Celeste was one of nine children, three boys and six girls, of Louis and Stella (Petz) Rabaut. She was born  in Detroit and given the name Marie Celeste. Sister Celeste attended St. Paul Elementary and High Schools in Grosse Pointe, Mich. She became a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1937, taking the religious name of Sister Palmyre.

Sister Celeste earned a bachelor's degree from Marygrove College and M.S.L.S. (library science) degree from the Catholic University of America. She taught in formal education for six years at St. Matthew and Annunciation in Detroit. In 1945 Sister Celeste began a long-time ministry in the library at Marygrove College where she ministered for 27 years and as assistant librarian from 1971 to 1975.

After leaving Marygrove, Sister Celeste assumed the position of IHM archivist at the Motherhouse in Monroe and, for 18 years, ministered as archivist. During six of those years, in addition to the position of archivist, she was general secretary to the president of the IHM congregation. In 1993 Sister Celeste became assistant to the archivist, and in 2002 she retired. She entered the Health Care Center in 2006 where she resided until her death. She was 96.

Sister Celeste is survived by her sisters in the IHM community, and her sisters, Carolyn DePorre, Joan Barret, Sister Martha, IHM, sister-in-law, Mrs. Virginia Rabaut, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Rev. Francis Dermott Rabaut, S.J., Louis III, Vincent, and her sisters, Mary Jane Amato and Sister Stella Marie, IHM. Her Remembering was written by Martha Rabaut, IHM, and Joan Glisky, IHM.


Murray, Agnes Louise , IHM
July 26, 1933-April 27, 2011

Sister Agnes Louise was one of five children, two boys and three girls, of Thomas and Agnes (Dougherty) Murray. She was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and given the name Margaret. Sister Agnes Louise attended St. Joseph Elementary School in Cuyahoga Falls and St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio. She became a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1951, taking the religious name of Sister Agnes Louise.

Sister Agnes Louise earned a bachelor's degree from Marygrove College and a master's degree from the University of Texas. She taught in formal education for 25 years at St. Patrick, Wyandotte; St. Catherine, Epiphany and Immaculata, Detroit; Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Emmett; Our Lady of Lourdes, River Rouge and for 11 years at St. Edward University, Austin Texas.

In 1980 Sister Agnes Louise served on the pastoral team and as director of adult education at St. Ignatius Parish in Austin. She left St. Ignatius in 1990, participated in a renewal program and began ministering as a consultant at the Cedarbrake Renewal Center in Belton, Texas, as a spiritual director and pastoral assistant and then pastoral assistant for marriage, at San Jose Parish in Austin.

In 1995 Sister Agnes Louise returned to St. Ignatius Parish in Austin and for the next 12 years served as director of adult education, director of the RCIA program and as parish advocate for the tribunal calling parishioners to their own depth of commitment to Christ and the community in which they lived. In 2007, she retired to the IHM Motherhouse in Monroe. She spent the last 18 months in the Health Care Center where she resided until her death. She was 78.

Sister Agnes Louise is survived by her sisters in the IHM community, her brother, Paul, her sisters, Mrs. Mary Agnes Knittel and Mrs. Ann Finnerty, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, James. We invite you to read her Remembering.

Daly, Louise (Mary Samuel), IHM
Nov. 7, 1919 - March 24, 2011

Sister Louise was one of six children, three boys, and three girls, of Patrick and Beulah (Saunders) Daly. She  attended St. John Elementary School in Jackson, Mich., St. Vincent Orphanage for part of elementary school and high school and then graduated from St. Charles High School in Detroit. She became a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1938, taking the religious name of Sister Mary Samuel

Sister Louise earned a bachelor's degree from Marygrove College in Detroit and a master's degree from Marywood College in Scranton, Pa. She taught in formal education for 27 years at St. Mary, Monroe; St. Joseph, Erie; Gesu and Our Lady of Good Counsel, Detroit; St. Stephen, Port Huron and Our Lady of Fatima, DeLand, Fla. Sister Louise and Sister Marie Lenore Murphy opened Our Lady of Fatima mission in 1952.  

After obtaining her degree in library science, Sister Louise spent the next 22 years in the library at Marygrove College as cataloger and archivist. She was an excellent seamstress and also did embroidery, crocheting and tatting. After taking some courses in cooking, she prepared many meals for various occasions. She retired in 1989 and lived in Rockwood, Mich., volunteering in many ways. Sister Louise retired to the Motherhouse in 2006 and entered the Health Care Center where she resided until her death. She was 91.

Sister Louise is survived by her sisters in the IHM community and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, John and Thomas, and her sisters, Sister Ruth (Bernita,) IHM, and Bernadine (Mrs. Shane). Read Sister Louise's Remembering.

Logan, M. Lois (Peter Canisius), IHM
May 24, 1928 - Feb. 21, 2011

Sister Lois was one of three children, one boy and two girls, of Earl and Barbara Lewis Logan. She was born in Baltimore and given the name Mary Lois. Sister Lois attended St. Rita Elementary School and Sparrow Point High School in Baltimore. She became a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1957, taking the religious name of Sister Peter Canisius.

Sister Lois served in the United States Navy 1949-1953 and then went to Marygrove College under the G.I. Bill. She earned her bachelor's degree from Marygrove and her master's degree from Wayne State University. Sister Lois taught in formal education for 20 years at St. Charles, Newport; St. Charles, Holy Redeemer and St. Vincent, Detroit; Marian High School, Bloomfield Hills; St Mary Academy, Monroe; Gabriel Richard High School, Riverview; St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and St. Hugo in Bloomfield Hills. She was very conscientious in her professional development and updating her knowledge and skills.

After a year of renewal in 1979, Sister Lois became religious education coordinator at St. Gerard Majella Parish in Kirkwood, Mo., where she stayed for five years before going to the School of Applied Theology at Berkeley (Calif.). Sister Lois then ministered as pastoral associate at St. Anne Parish in Hazel Crest, Ill. Her next 10 years included tutoring, clerical and volunteer work and four years at West Bloomfield Hospice. In 2003 she retired to the IHM Motherhouse doing volunteer work and working in the LARC book store. Sister Lois went to the Health Care Center in 2007 where she resided until her death. She was 82.

Sister Lois is survived by her sister, Vilma, and a brother, Ronald, and nephews. This is her Remembering.

Crittenden, Catherine (Florita), IHM
Oct. 14, 1917 - Feb. 20, 2011

Sister Catherine was one of five children, two girls and three boys, of William and Delia (Jones) Crittenden. She was born on Oct. 14, 1917, in Walkerville, Ontario, Canada, and given the name Delia Catherine. Sister Catherine attended St. Mary Elementary and High School in Mt. Morris, Mich. She became a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1934, taking the religious name of Sister Florita.

Sister Catherine earned a bachelor's degree from Marygrove College. She taught in formal education for 34 years at St. Charles, Newport: Holy Redeemer, Holy Rosary and St. Vincent, Detroit; Our Lady of Lourdes, River Rouge; St. Thomas, Ann Arbor; St. Cyprian, Riverview; and St. Luke, Flint.

From 1972 to 1994 Sister Catherine was involved in several ministries. She spent 13 years at St. Martin Parish in Detroit, and was involved in pastoral ministry to the sick and elderly and as pastoral associate. After a year in transition, Sister Catherine became the librarian at St. David School in Detroit. This tenure was followed by five years as receptionist at the IHM Northeast Province Office in Taylor, Mich. In 1994 she retired to the IHM Motherhouse in Monroe, helping out where she was needed. In 2000 Sister Catherine became a patient in the Health Care Center at the Motherhouse where she resided until her death. She was 93.

Sister Catherine is survived by her sisters in the IHM community as well as her brother, Dale, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mrs. Rosemary Brophy, and her brothers, Theodore and Carl. Read Sister Catherine's Remembering 

O'Donnell, Patricia M. (Generosa), IHM
July 1, 1928-Feb. 5, 2011

Sister Patricia was one of three children, one boy and two girls, of Gerald and Olivette (Wall) O'Donnell. She was born in Detroit and given the name Mary Patricia. Sister Patricia attended St. Gregory Elementary and High Schools in Detroit. She became a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1946, taking the religious name of Sister Generosa.

Sister Patricia earned a bachelor's degree from Marygrove College and a master's degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. She taught in formal education for 53 years at St. Raymond, Holy Trinity, St. Matthew and Annunciation in Detroit; Immaculate Heart of Mary, Glen Lake, Mo.; Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Emmett, Mich., and St. Stephen, Port Huron.

In 1972 Sister Patricia was missioned to Gesu Elementary School in Detroit. She spent the next 30 years at Gesu teaching mainly in the junior high. While living at Marygrove Convent/McGivney Apartments, Sister Patricia worked at Gesu in the Financial Office for three years. She enjoyed playing the violin, doing bulletin boards in the classrooms and was a great seamstress. Sister Patricia and her sister, Sister Mary Therese, enjoyed participating in Elder Hostel trips in the United States. In 2006 she retired to the IHM Motherhouse in Monroe and four years later entered the Health Care Center where she resided until her death. She was 82.

Sister Patricia is survived by her sisters in the IHM community. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald, and her sister, Sister Mary Therese (Raphael Marie), IHM. This is Sister Pat's Remembering.
